Academic mobility is the movement of students or research teachers to study or conduct research for a certain academic period: a semester or an academic year to another higher educational institution (local or abroad) with the obligatory transfer of the acquired educational programs in the form of credits at one’s own university or to continue your studies at another university;

Within the framework of academic mobility invites leading teaching staff from universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, CIS-countries and foreign countries; to send students to study for 1 or more semesters in the local universities, as well as in the universities of the CIS-countries and foreign countries; accept exchange students from local universities, the CIS and foreign countries.

At West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University the academic mobility program is implemented in two directions:
– External academic mobility is the movement of students or research teachers to study or conduct research for a certain academic period abroad;
– Internal academic mobility is the movement of students or research teachers for teaching or research for a specific academic period within the country

The goal of academic mobility: integration into the international educational space, the use of world educational resources.

Requirements for participation in the academic exchange program of students and a list of necessary documents
A specialist in academic mobility of students, together with the deans, organizes the work of the Commission for conducting a competition among students. The selection of students to foreign universities is carried out on a competitive basis. To participate in the competition, you must write an application to the dean's office (Sample).

The main criteria of the competitive selection are:
Completion of one academic period, semester, module at the University, taking into account the GPA. For students traveling under the academic mobility program at the expense of the University (abroad and/or in the Republic of Kazakhstan), the GPA is at least 3.00.
For non—CIS countries - TOEFL or IELTS (6) certificate (knowledge of English).

In order to share knowledge and experience, the university actively implements academic mobility programs among students. During the reporting period of 2024, within the framework of the educational program, outgoing academic mobility amounted to 402 students, of which:

Academic mobility of 295 students is planned for 2024y. 402 trainees were completed.

According to the program of incoming academic mobility for 2024, 29 students from universities such as:
«International Medical University» (Kyrgyzstan) – 5;
NAO «Astana Medical University» - 16;
NUO «Kazakh-Russian Medical University» - 7;
«Samarkand State Medical University» - 1 were accepted to the ZKMU.

The Department of International Cooperation, Projects and Academic Mobility actively implements the implementation of interuniversity cooperation within the framework of bilateral agreements with foreign partners. Today, Marat Ospanov WKMU works on 121 contracts and agreements on cooperation in the field of education with research and educational organizations from countries near and far abroad.

Cooperation is carried out with the countries of Europe and Asia, namely: Poland, Italy, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, RF, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and India.
