About us

The Scientific and Analytical Work Department (SAWD) of Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan Medical University focuses on analyzing and supporting the university’s scientific activities. The department assists the university's scientific staff in promoting their research results and publication activities, as well as ensuring the informational and analytical support of scientific work.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support and develop the scientific activities of the university, ensuring that scientific results meet world standards. We contribute to enhancing the scientific potential of the university and its recognition in the scientific community both in Kazakhstan and internationally.

Traditions and Competitions

  1.  

    The department traditionally holds an internal scientific project competition. This competition aims to stimulate and support the research activities of the university’s staff. University grants are provided to finance the scientific projects of faculty members and staff.

The department’s objectives include

  • Coordinating the informational and analytical support of the university’s scientific work, participating in competitions, and implementing projects funded by grants.
  • Organizing and holding an internal scientific project competition aimed at supporting and stimulating research activities.
  • Funding scientific projects through university grants to support the research activities of faculty members and staff.

Main Functions of the Department:

  1. Analysis of scientific research
    The department analyzes current scientific research, identifies trends in science and technology, and evaluates the results of scientific projects.
  2. Monitoring scientific publications and innovations
    The department tracks publications in scientific journals, monitors reports on scientific activities and innovations, and analyzes scientific achievements both domestically and internationally.
  3. Preparation of analytical reports
    The department prepares reports and analytical materials for university leadership, government bodies, and scientific organizations.
  4. Support for strategic planning
    The department participates in developing strategic directions for the university’s scientific work and helps identify priority areas for future research.
  5. Evaluation of scientific effectiveness
    The department assesses the effectiveness of scientific work by analyzing indicators such as publications, patents, participation in conferences, and other scientific events.
  6. Information support for scientific projects
    The department ensures the collection, processing, and dissemination of scientific information and assists in preparing scientific applications and grant proposals.

Regulatory legal acts

The university's scientific research activities, as indicated, are carried out in accordance with a number of legal acts. Specifically, these include:

  1. The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Science" (November 18, 2011, No. 407-IV) — regulates the organization of scientific activities, the establishment of standards and principles in the field of science and innovation, as well as intergovernmental and international scientific relations.
  2. The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Education" (July 27, 2007, No. 319-III) — covers issues of educational activities in the country, including the role of scientific research in educational institutions, including universities, and the requirements for training specialists.
  3. Development Program of NAO "West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University" for 2024-2028 — a document defining the goals and strategic directions for the university’s scientific and educational work in the coming years.

These documents form the foundation for the development of scientific research and education within the university, supporting them in accordance with the current legal requirements.

In accordance with Article 23 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Science," the University’s scientific activities were accredited by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan on September 16, 2024, as a subject of scientific and scientific-technical activities (certificate MК№000626).

All research is conducted in three scientific areas:

  • Research in clinical medicine;
  • Research in theoretical and experimental medicine;
  • Research on psychological-pedagogical and interdisciplinary issues of social sciences.

The University actively collaborates with research institutes and centers, as well as educational and medical institutions in Kazakhstan and abroad.
